Gunfire

A fire in which each gun fires its rounds independently of the others, and it may or may not have an interval of fire ordered. Gunfire is used mainly to deliver a rapid fire against attacking troops or in support of troops advancing to attack; also the hour at which the morning and evening gun is fired.
