carpet thread (karpetthred)

A heavy, three-cord thread of linen with a soft sat in like finish, used for sewing breadths of carpet together. carpet-walkt (kär'pet-wak), n. A walk on smooth turf. The popular name of plants of the genus Mollugo, inconspicuous annuals, somewhat resembling plants of the genus Galium in their habit, found in the warmer regions of both hemispheres. M. vert i cillata is most widely distributed.
