(kon-vo-lii* ’-shun) \_convolvere, to roll together]. A fold, twist, or coil of any organ, especially any one of the prominent convex parts of the brain, separated from each other by depre ions or sulci. C, Angular, the posterior part of a convolution situated between the intraparietal fi ure in front and above, and the horizontal limb of the Sylvian fi ure, and the hinder part of the first part of the first temporal fi ure below. The anterior part is called the supra marginal convolution. C, Annectant, small convolutions which connect the occipital with the temporosphenoidal and parietal lobes. C, Anterior Central, C, Ascending Frontal, the convolution in front of the fi ure of Rolando. C, Ascending Parietal, the convolution just behind the fi ure of Rolando.
