(per-e-ne’um) [Gr. περέναιον]. The space, or area, between the anus and the genital organs. It is limited in front by the pubic arch, behind by a line joining the tuberosities of the ischia, and on either side by the rami of the ischium. It is occupied by the urethra and vagina in the female, and by various muscles, nerves, and ve els.
