emollescence (emolesens)

[L. e, out, + mollescere, inceptive of mollire, soften: see emollient.] In a body beginning to melt, that degree of softne which alters its shape; the first or lowest degree of fusion. emolliate (e-mol'iat), v. t.; pret. and pp. emol liated, ppr. emolliating.
