Irony

(i'rón-e.) [From Gr. ei ron, one who acts a part.] (Rhet.) In its commonest sense, a sarcastic expre ion of praise or a ent rendered in cases where disapprobation or di ent is really intended to be conveyed by the speaker or writer. [s. 493]
