[Fr., from Lat. centum, and Fr. litre.) In France, a measure of capacity, being the 100th part of a litre, equal to 61028 of a cubic inch. Centiloquy, n. [Lat. centum, and loqui , to speak.] A hundred-fold discourse. (R.) Centime, (son-teem',) n. [Fr., from Lat. centesimus.] A French coin of the value of the 100th part of a franc; or the fifth part of the American cent. Centimetre, (son'te-me-tr,) n. [Fr. centimètre, from Lat, centum, and Gr. metron , measure.] A French measure of length, the 100th part of a METRE, q. v.; equal to 39371 of an English inch. Cen'tinel, n. See SENTINEL.
