Handkerchief

(hang'-ker-chif). A square piece of cloth for wiping the face or nose. H., Barton's; a handkerchief is folded in the form of a cravat, and the body is so placed on the point of the heel that the portion on the outer side of the foot is one-third longer than the other portion. The short part is held parallel with the sole of the foot while the long part is carried acro the instep, turned round the inner part, carried back under the sole of the foot and looped round its own side. The two ends are then tied together for the purpose of exerting traction.
