A hand litter. 2. An extension apparatus, ambulance s. A portable folding s. that may be carried in an ambulance, hospital s. A folding, rigid, or wheeled hand s. used for transportation of the sick in the hospital. [Old Eng., streechenj Stria (str i'ah). Gen. and pi. striae. A fine line (e. g., a ridge, or streak of color; especially one of a number of such lines when they are parallel). acoustic striae, auditory striae.
