The term for a succe ion of waves in a particular direction, and named after the point of the compa from which the waves move. Swell. In Music, a set of pipes in an organ acted upon by a key board, and capable of being increased in intensity of sound by the action of a pedal, which allows of its being thereby gradually augmented.
