water prism (waterprizm)

In a canal or river, the body of water at any part of its course as determined by the cro -section at that part, regarded as a cro -section of a prism. The Yazoo river, by measurements, returned 129,000 cu bic feet per second at highest water at Vicksburg (June 27) to the water - prism. Gov.
