Crisis

(pl. CRISES,) (kris is.) [Gr., from kr ino, I judge.] Generally, the point of time when an affair has arrive dat its height, and must soon terminate or suffer a material change.-(Med.) A sudden change, either for the better or worse, indicative of recovery or death. In its more usual sense, it denotes that stage of a disorder at which some judgment may be formed of its termination.
