gridelin, gredaline

Or a framing of cro -timbers which receives a ship with the falling tide. gridiron-pendulum, s. Horol.: A compensation pendulum in which the bob is supported by parallel bars of two metals which are unequally expanded by heat. These so disposed that, while one tends to lengthen it, the other tends to shorten it. The ratio of lengths is determined by the relative expansibility. [PENDULUM.] gridiron-valve, s.
