An invocation to the Almighty, intoned in the Ma of the Roman Catholic Church after the Introit, and serving to usher in the hymn of praise, " Gloria in excels is Deo." thing like a cro . From the cro -beam depended a square purple banner, decorated with precious stones, and surrounded by a rich border of gold embroidery. [s. 520]
