Boustrophe/don

[Gr., from bous, an ox, and strephō, I turn.] ( Lit. ) A term descriptive of a mode of writing common among the early Greeks, until nearly the middle of the 5th century, B. C.; viz.. in alternate lines from right to left, and from left to right, as fields are ploughed in furrows, having an alternate direction, whence the derivation. Bou'sy, a. See Boozy.
