zingel (z as dz)

[Low Ger.] Ichthy.: A name applied by some writers to any individual or species of the genus Aspro (q. v.). The name is more properly limited to the type-species, Aspro zingel , about a foot long, with a weight of two pounds; back greenish-brown, sides yellowish with a shade of gray, belly whitish, four cloudy brownish-black bands, more or le distinct on sides.
