i.; pret. and pp. superfetated, ppr. superfetating. [Formerly also superfætate; The female brings forth twice in one month, and so is said to superfetate , which is because her eggs are hatched in her one after another. N. Grew, Museum. [For superfetation (sū" pėr-fē-tā'shon), n. merly also superfætation; = F. superfétation = Sp. super feta cion = Pg. super fetação = It. super fetazione, Here is superfetation , child upon child, and, that which is more strange, twins at a latter conception.
