(ka'-liks). In biology, applied to various cup-like ensheathing structures, as the funnel-shaped ti ues surrounding the Malpighian pyramids of the kidney, the cups of a polyzoan, or a Crinoid; an ovarian capsule. C. of Ovum, the wall of the Graafian follicle from which the ovum has escaped.
