grease box (gresboks)

The axle-box of a railway-truck; an oil-box. grease-cock (gres'kok), n. In steam-engines, a short pipe with two stop-cocks, fixed in the cylinder-cover for the purpose of introducing melted grease into the cylinder to lubricate the piston without allowing the steam to escape.
