Acetabulum

(1) One of the lobes of the placenta of ruminants. (2) One of the sucking cups of the cuttle-fish. (3) The depre ion in the epimerum of an insect's segment which receives the coxa of the leg. (4) In anatomy it is the socket of a ball and socket joint, as at the hip.
