plectromantis

[Pref. plectro-, and Greek mantis a kind of locust.] Zool.: The sole genus of the family Plectromantide, with a single species from the region west of the Andes and south of the equator. It has neck glands; the fingers are dilated, but not the toes. plěc-tron, s . (Gr.)
