pl. [NL., pleurobranchial (plö-ro-brang ki-al), a. [ pleurobranchia1 + -al.] Of or pertaining to a pleurobranchia: as, a pleurobranchial proce . Pleurobranchiata (plő-rō-brang-ki-ātā), n. pl. [NL., neut. pl. of pleurobranchiatus: see pleu rob ranch i ate.] An order of opisthobranch i ate gastropods, whose gills are tufts on the sides under a fold of the mantle, and which have generally a spiral shell in the adult as well as the young. Also Pleurobranchia, Tectibranch i at a. pleurobranchiate (plö-ro-brang ki-āt), a. NL. pleurobranchiatus, or having their characters. [
