(Fr. copie.) In the Fine Arts, a transcript from an original work of art. When an artist copies his own work, it is called a duplicate or double. Copy. In Printing, is the subject matter to be printed, whether it be an original work in manuscript or a reprint: in the first case it is termed manuscript copy, or written copy; in the second printed copy.
