DROP

General currency. An apprehension in criminal action. See “ FALL ”; “ SNEEZE ”; “ RUMBLE ”; “ TUMBLE. ” Also used as a verb to expre the action corresponding to a similar state. Example of the latter: “The tribe dropped a man in the day’s work,” i. e., lost one by arrest. “We had to drop a stall for mi ing too many meets,” i. e., discharged him. Command or control by reason of advantage in an exigency when shooting may be expected.
