Rev. William ( youngest son of Rev. Anthony Dow, D.D., minister of Kirk patrick, Iron gray, Perth shire, who d. 17 July 1834 ). Educ. at Univ. of Edin., M.A. 17 April 1839; licensed by Presbytery of Dumfries 6 Nov. 1821; presented by George iv to Tongland, Kirk cud bright 13 June and ordained 21 Sep. 1826; withdrew his adherence to the confe ion of faith, deposed by the General A embly 23 May 1832; called to be an Apostle of the Catholic Apostolic church when at Kirk cud bright, June 1835; made a tour of the continent 1839 as the Apostle to Ru ia; a writer in the Morning Watch ; author of A series of discourses on practical and doctrinal subjects 1847, second series 1850; Sermons and Homilies 1856; First principles of the doctrine of Christ 1856. d. David Dow, a istant minister of Kirk patrick, Iron gray, was called to be an Apostle of the Catholic Apostolic church when at Iron gray, June 1835 but declined to accept the call; he went to the Cape of Good Hope and became a farmer.
