A permi ion which a bishop grants to a priest to go out of his diocese; also leave to go out generally. -Ne exeat. A writ which forbids the person to whom it is addre ed to leave the countcy, the state, or the jurisdiction of the court; avail- -~ble 'in some cases to keep a defendant within the reach of the court's proce , wh-ere the ends of justice would be frustrated if he should escape from the jurisdiction.
