Stipiturus (stipiturus)

[NL. (Le on, 1831), IMG:content-2149.png:[graphic][merged small][merged small][subsumed] small brownish bird streaked with black, and with blue throat, described by Latham in 1801 as the soft tailed flycatcher. The immediate affinities of the genus are with such forms as Sphenœacus and Sphenura (see these words), and the true position of all these forms seems to be among or near the reed or gra -warblers, especially such as have but ten tail-feathers.
