[Mod. Lat. poly a delph ( ia ); -ian, -ous.] Bot.: Combined into several ma es, or a emblages; having the stamens arranged in more than two bundles. pol-y-a-dělph'-ite, s. [Gr. poly a del phos =with many brothers; suff. -ite ( Min.).] Min .: A brownish-yellow variety of garnet (q. v.), containing much sesquioxide of iron, protoxide of manganese, and lime. The original was ma ive. Found at Franklin, Su ex County, England, and in the state of New Jersey. It is included by Dana in his group of manganese lime-iron garnets.
