Akoklo, a pamter of the Florentine was bom near Florence in 1501 or 1502; died or 1572. He was a pupil of Jacopo da Porand an admirer and imitator of Michael He painted a great number of portraits; and historical paintings are distinguished by the striking pleasing features of the heaojB which they contain. his hist paintings is a Christ in the church Santa at Florence. It is remarkable for its grouping colouring, as well as for the heads, many of which the portraits of his friends and contemporaries; it is not altogether free from mannerism and 60 aff ectatioxL Some penons have found fault nakedne of his figures. 431
