SINGLETON COPLEY, LORD, 1772–1863. Son of the artist, and b. in Boston; M.P. 1818; Solicitor-gen. and Knight 1819; Atty.-gen. 1824; Baron 1827; Lord Chancellor 1827-30, 1834-35, and 1841-46; Chief Baron of the Exchequer 1830-34.
