George Thorndike, an American reformer, born in 1820. He was graduated at Dart mouth, 1846, and admitted to the bar, 1851. He was active in promoting measures for the prevention of crime, cruelties, and the adulteration of food, and foundea the American Humane Educational Society. He died in 100.
