The term is specifically ap plied to the numerous equivocal vertebræ of the sacrarium of a bird, which are situated between the sacral vertebræ proper and the free caudal or coccygeal vertebræ, and are ankylosed with one another, with the last true sacral vertebra, and to a greater or le extent with the ilia or ischia, or both.
