Geminate

(jem'in-at.) [From L. gem in are, to make double.] (Bot.) United or collected in pairs. Gemini, (jem'e-ni.) [ L., the twins. ] (Astron.) The Twins, the zodiacal sign or constellation representing Castor and Pollux. They are about half-way between Aldebaran and Regulus, and may easily be recognized by two conspicuous stars of the 2d magnitude in close propinquity to each other; Castor being to the E., and Pollux to the W.; their line cutting the belt of Orion.
