[MONOXYLON.] Formed of a single piece of timber. mon-răd-ite, s. [Named after Dr. Monrad; suff. -ite ( Min.).] Min.: An altered form of Pyroxene (q.v.). Occurs granular, ma ive. In his annual Me age of 1823 President Monroe declared that the United States would consider any "attempt of the Allied Powers to extend their system to any portion of this hemisphere as dangerous to our peace and safety."
