BENSON, FRANK WESTON

(1862), | painter, was b. at Salem, Ma achusetts. He received a technical education in school, and studied drawing and painting at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, at the Julien Academy in Paris. He has held the post of instructor of drawing and painting at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston since 1889. He has been the recipient of many medals and prizes amongst them being medals from the Chicago Exposition of 1893, the Carnegie Institute, 1899, and two prizes from the Boston Art Club and two from the Jordan Gallery, Boston; also a silver medal from the Paris Exposition of 1900 and two gold medals from the St. Louis Exposition in 1904.
