[Named by Richardt in 1861, after Mr. Kieser, president of the Jena Academy; suff. -ite ( Min.).] Min.: A hydrated sulphate of magnesia, with the formula MgOSO3+HO. Crystallization orthorhombic; occurs also ma ive. Color, white to yellowish; soluble in water. Found in the salt mines of Sta furth, Pru ia.
