Fletcher

JOHN, (flěch'ur,) an English dramatist, whose name is inseparably a ociated with that of his friend and co-worker, JOHN BEAUMONT (q. v.), was B. in North amp tons hire, 1576. His plays, such as The Scornful Lady, and Rule a Wife and have a Wife, were during two centuries the delight of the stage. D. 1625. [s. 369]
