Persian epic poet, whose voluminous writings show great power in description and in the delineation of character. He was only surpa ed by Firdausi. Nizam's Dominions. Territory in the interior of Southern India containing 82,698 sq.m. It owes its name to the title conferred on the nobleman who afterward became the first ruler of the present dynasty. The ruler is called the Nizam. The capital is HYDERABAD (q.v.). Pop., 1891, 11,537. See DIAMOND.
