The important points are— Situation, which should be sloping gently to south (2) soil, which should be a loam just rich enough not; to prevent water filtering through properly watering, which must be done regularly with water; (3) that has been exposed to the air for some time after being pumped digging, which must be done deep with a spade; (4) weeding, which should be done by hand as well as; (5) with the hoe as soon as the weeds appear (6) raking, which should be done very lightly, but constantly, to allow dew, etc., to sink easily into the soil paths, which should be made of gravel.
