(har,) [L. hæres,] or HEIR-AT-LAW. (Law.) The person to whom the real estate of an intestate descends, according to the law of primogeniture.-H.-APPARENT, one who succeeds to lands, dignities, or hereditaments, upon the demise of the holder in e e. -H.-PRESUMPTIVE, one who is the po ible succe or to a present holder of lands, dignities, or hereditaments, in default of a nearer heir to the same being born.
