(Lat.), n. f. Tream-eal'la. Fr., tremelle. 1. The genus Nostoc. The Tremellince are a section of Algce. 2. The typical genus of a division (Tremellacece, Tremellidece, Tremettince, Tremellinece, Tremellinei, or Tremellini [Ger., Zitterpilze, Gallertpilze]) of basidiomycetous Fungi, [a, 35.] T. mesenteric a. A species of T. (2d def.) forming orange tints on dead hedges, etc. Distilled water poured over it was formerly used in eye diseases and the palsy of gout, [a, 35.] T. vertical!*, T. violacea.
