[PERM IS TION.] Per-mō-, pref. (PERMIAN.] Related to the Permian (q. v.). Permo-carboniferous rocks, s. pl. Geol.: The transitional beds connecting the Carboniferous with the Permian in cases where the boundary line between the two is not obvious. per-müt-a-ble, adj. [Fr.) Capable of being permuted or exchanged; exchangeable. per-müt-a-ble-ne , subst . [Eng. permutable ; -ne .] The quality or state of being permutable. per-müt-a-bly, adv .
