(naf'thal-en), naphthale'num. Tar camphor, a hydrocarbon obtained from coal-tar and crystallized; occurs as white lustrous plates of tarry odor and burning taste; employed as an intestinal antiseptic in doses of gr. 2-8 (o 13— o.S).
