He engaged in Sherman's invasion of Georgia, and led a corps at Nashville in 1864. ‘Wood’s Coins (see Rosa American a), coins i ued by Great Britain for use in America in 1722 and made by William Wood, after whom they were called Wood’s coins, or Rosa American a. They were of a mixed metal resembling bra , and the royal letters patent denominated them two pence, pence and half pence.
