(ski’ag-raf) (Gr. σκιά shadow + γραφεῖν to write]. A picture or photograph made by the Roéntgen rays. akiagraphy (ski-ag’raf-e) (Gr. σκιά shadow + γραφεῖν to write]. The art or proce of making skiagraphs or photographs by means of the Réntgen rays. It is performed by placing the part or article between the rays and a photographic plate, when the rays will penetrate many substances, as the flesh, which are impervious to ordinary light rays; but any substance, as bone or gla , which is impervious to the Réntgen rays, will cast a shadow of itself upon the photographic plate. akiameter (ski-am’et-er) (Gr. σκιά shadow + μέτρον measure]. An instrument for measuring the intensity of the Réntgen rays, and thus determining how long an exposure is needed.
