Isaiah

Twenty-third O.T. book, containing the prophecies of Isaiah, writing ab. 759-700 B.C., and in Ch. XL.-LXVI. those of a yet greater though namele prophet, the most gifted of Hebrew poets, living in Babylon ab. 540 B.C., commonly called the O. T. Evangelist, as so evidently foretelling the advent of Christ. No more fervent, stirring, and uplifting strains are to be found in ancient literature.
