CULBERTSON, Michael Simpson Born Cham

Resigning his commi ion in the army, he entered the Theological Seminary at Princeton, N. J., graduating in 1843. He was regarded by Dr. Hodge as “among the foremost members of the institution.” He sailed for China in 1844 as a mi ionary of the Presbyterian Board; was stationed at Ningpo 1845-51, and at Shanghai, 1851-62.
