(ik-the-o-kol'-ah). Isingla . The air-bladder of the sturgeon, huso. It occurs in horny, translucent, white sheets, that form a jelly with hot water. It is the purest form of gelatin, and is used as a food, for clarifying liquids, and as a test for tannic acid. It is a good antiphlogistic, M and has proved efficient in eczema and psoriasis, and in gynecology.
