Triangle

(Ger. 7riang/el; Fr. triangle; It. tri an’gol.) An orchestral instr. of percu ion, consisting of a steel rod bent into triangular shape, one corner being left slightly open; it is struck with ametal wand. ‘The rhythm alone being noted, the triangle-part is usually written ona single line, headed by the time-signature only.
