A projecting and somewhat rounded portion of a part or organ; in the brain, either (a) a rounded elevation (e. a., one of the corpora quadrigemina) or (b) a group of cerebellar folia (e: g., the semilunar L), or (c) a group of cerebral gyri more or le distinctly demark a ted by deep fi ures and corresponding approximately to the cranial bones (e. g.. the occipital I.); in botany, a subdivision of an organ, especially a rounded projection from the margin of a leaf, or other flattened organ.
